It was on 26th September 1906 that the first every lecture was delivered at the Russian State Medical University in Moscow. The course at that time was called HMCW, meaning Higher Medical Course for Women. The ones who heard about this course were called Medichki. The spring of 1912 saw the first Medichki graduate.
The competition for getting admission into the university was very high because it offered a very popular course. The number of medical students increased from 206 to 285 from 1906 to 1907-1908 respectively. This meant that approximately 2128 students have declined admission into the University for the Course. A total number of students who studied the HMCW course from the students till the time of the Russian Revolution were 1060.
The total fee for the course would be approximately Rs 12 lakh to Rs 15 lakh. For more information, you can visit the official website of the university.
